Young Men’s / Women’s Mentoring Program

Targeted at at-risk students, including those returning from suspension, in Out of Home Care, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, this program focuses on closing the gap, boosting engagement, and supporting personal growth.

Former Deputy Principal & Head of Department for Wellbeing, Tim Duroux, facilitates sessions for 1-4 students. As Current Mentor Coach, he connects quickly with students creating a supportive atmosphere where participants feel free to share and get outside their comfort zone to achieve growth. The students engage in activities to support the Personal & Social Capabilities framework.

“I highly recommend the Young Men’s Mentoring Program. Tim brings genuine care, a calm and supportive presence, and is able to build trust quickly with students, including those with a trauma background. He created a safe, encouraging environment where our students felt comfortable to open up, learn new skills, and grow. The program’s focus on identity, wellbeing, and resilience has made a positive difference for the students we have referred, and Tim’s flexible, student-centred approach ensures each participant gets what they need to move forward with confidence.”
